In summer 2023, I designed and painted a 20×4 metre mural for the Maypole Pub in Cambridge. Working closely with the owners, I developed a concept that celebrates the pub’s history and setting, with a maypole at the centre and flowing ribbons weaving through scenes of Cambridge. The mural brings together both town and gown, capturing familiar landmarks and everyday moments, with an added Italian flair as a nod to the owners’ heritage.
The mural took tweleve weeks to paint! It was such a prevalige to be asked to paint the mural. Completing a project of this scale was both a deeply rewarding and fulfilling experience, and I’m proud to have created a piece that reflects the spirit of the Maypole and the charm of Cambridge.
